Daniel Shawn "Danny" Nelson
1972 - 2017

Daniel "Danny" Shawn Nelson, 45, of Junction City, passed away at home on May 24, 2017. A Celebration of Life will be Thursday, June 1, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. at the Junction City Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Ed Mathis officiating. Cremation has taken place and private family inurnment services will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions have been designated to the American Cancer Society and to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital.and may be sent in care of Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, P.O. Box 826, Junction City, KS 66441.

He was born on March 10, 1972, Junction City, Kansas to Daniel and Sylvia (Holland) Nelson.

Danny worked for many years at Dillon's as a stocker and previously in the produce department and his most recent employment for the past 18 years working for Pizza Hut in the kitchen. Danny loved spending time with his children and his grandson and his nieces and also his four-legged friend Black Labrador Tasha. Danny will be greatly missed by his co-workers and his many friends and most of all his family.

He enjoyed fishing and watching his favorite football team the Miami Dolphins, he loved to go on late night drives and listen to country music and visit with his friends and co-workers and he loved to work.

Daniel is survived by his loving Daughter, Marcella Hearn (Stephen) and grandson Aaron of Ellsworth Afb, SD; his parents, Dan and Sylvia Nelson of Junction City, KS; his brother, Chris (Rhianna) Nelson and nieces, Charleigh and Rylee all of Manhattan, KS; Grandmother, Lillie Holland of Junction City, KS. He is also survived by many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

He was preceded in death by his son, Joseph "Joe" Nelson and his brother, Joseph Nelson.
